Eclectica (noun): deriving ideas, style and artistic taste from a modern artistic collaboration
Ensemble Eclectica is defining a new symphonic based art medium to change perceptions of what artistic collaboration means in the 21st century. We must maintain the relevance of symphonic artworks by breaking the traditional sensory boundaries that have existed between the artist and audience.
Changing perceptions of art forms grows art appreciation. This is our mission.
Ensemble Eclectica is the brainchild of Dr. Suzanna Pavlovsky, a brilliant and visionary musician, artistic director and conductor. As a female orchestra conductor, she is in a minority, both in the US and worldwide. The Russian-born Pavlovsky has studied under excellent, renowned conductors and has been recognized for her conducting talent as well as her creativity and passion.
After attending USC's SAVVY Musician in Action program in 2015, she decided to start putting a long-time dream into action: she envisioned a production that would offer original compositions and creative arrangements of the classics, as well as dance and other media, all presented with a contemporary flair in a way that would appeal to all audiences, regardless of their musical training or background. She has now accomplished this with a group of professional musicians, composers, media artists, and more - people who are quite well known in their own right, but who had not performed together as a group, nor would necessarily do so under normal circumstances.
